MEMORABLE MOMENT!

Anri Cilliers, Heide-Mari Lombard and Arinda Swart are pictured here with Miss Wendy Rossouw at their recent 20-year reunion function. All three of them were part of the 1996 girls’ u/19 athletics team which was a formidable group that dominated athletics in ALL disciplines at PE High Schools, EP High Schools and the Cradock Athletics Meetings.

They were tops in the following: 100, 200 & 400m: Nina Kellerman; 800, 1500 & 3000m: Anri Cilliers ; 1500 & 3000m: Arinda Swart; High Jump, Long Jump and Hurdles: Heide-Mari Lombard; High Jump: Lindi du Plessis; Field Events (Discus, Shot Put, Javelin): Mia Coetzee & Zené van der Walt. Miss Wendy Rossouw was the Middle Distance Coach and Athletics Organiser in those years.
These athletes were also highly talented in the classroom, as well as
talented artists. They presented Miss Rossouw with an awesome gift in 1996 in which each sketched a cat representing their characters. They knew that Miss Rossouw loved cats. The sketches wereframed and to this day have pride of place in Miss Rossouw’s home.
