JOT Society

Jot Society Report 2018

The JOT society has had another fantastic year.

A large number of Pearsonites have been actively involved in all of the weekly activities that the society offers.

The learners have been keen to develop their relationship with God. It has been wonderful to witness how God works in these teenagers’ lives.  They are excited about sharing their faith with their peers and family members.

Die JOT – gemeenskap het in een groot familie ontwikkel, waar leerders welkom, veilig en gelied voel.

The “Wednesday Get – Together” is a highlight of every week. A variety of events take place in the get – togethers, including worship sessions, personal testimonies, communion and DVD clips. Mr Broom’s class room is usually packed out for these meetings.

“GFC” (Girls for Christ) and “MUG” (Men United for God) meetings are held every Thursday at break time. This is a special time for guys and girls, where the opportunity exists for them to share openly with each other about issues directly affecting their lives.

The JOT prayer sessions included a very special prayer meeting held in January, where a huge number of Pearsonites met in the school hall to pray for rain. This was an incredibly powerful and meaningful time for all who attended.

Die twee hoogtepunte van die jaar was weer eens die JOT-kamp (in Februarie) en Focus Week (in Augustus).

85 Pearsonites went to the JOT camp. It was an awesome weekend of fun, food, worship sessions and inspiring guest speakers.

Focus Week was a week where guest speakers and worship teams came to Pearson to share their story and sing praises to the Lord. It was amazing to see hundreds of Pearsonites respond so positively to the sessions that took place.

We thank God for everything that He has done at Pearson this year and we look forward to what He has in store for 2019!
